About :

SpaceX's achievements include the first privately funded liquid-propellant rocket to reach orbit around Earth, the first private company to successfully launch, orbit, and recover a spacecraft, the first private company to send a spacecraft to the International Space Station, the first vertical take-off and vertical propulsive landing for an orbital rocket, the first reuse of an orbital rocket, and the first private company to send astronauts to orbit and to the International Space Station. SpaceX has flown the Falcon 9 series of rockets over one hundred times.

SpaceX is developing a satellite internet constellation named Starlink to provide commercial internet service. In January 2020, the Starlink constellation became the largest satellite constellation ever launched, and as of March 2022 it comprises 2,112 satellites in orbit.

The company is also developing Starship, a privately funded, fully reusable, super heavy-lift launch system for interplanetary spaceflight. Starship is intended to become SpaceX's primary orbital vehicle once operational, supplanting the existing Falcon 9, Falcon Heavy, and Dragon fleet.

Starship will have the highest payload capacity of any orbital rocket ever built on its debut, scheduled for 2022.

•Driving SpaceX's Revenues & Valuation?
SpaceX's Revenues should stand at about $1.6 Billion In 2021, up from an estimated $1.2 billion in 2020. Its valuation has jumped from $12 billion in 2014 to about $74 billion now :

SpaceX is a space technology company primarily focused on manufacturing and launching rockets and spaceships. Since it was founded in 2002, the company has reached several historic milestones - many of them related to the reuse of various components of a rocket.

In May 2020, SpaceX became the first private company to launch astronauts into space. This Trefis Dashboard details the factors driving SpaceX's revenues over the years, while also estimating that the company could be worth close to $74 billion in 2021.

Currently, the only source of revenue for SpaceX is its space launch service, which launches satellites into low earth orbit and transports cargo to and from the International Space Station.

However, the rapidly increasing valuation is attributed to bigger potential revenue streams in the future including:

- Space-based global internet network, Starlink. See our detailed analysis of Starlink here

- Point-to-point travel on Earth, made possible by its reusable rocket technology

How is SpaceX doing financially?
According to Forbes, in 2020, SpaceX signed 15 commercial missions for an estimated $80 million per launch, for total estimated revenues of $1.2 billion in 2020. In the hope of commencing regular space travel, SpaceX plans to launch its first all-civilian space flight in the last quarter of 2021 with four passengers.

SpaceX worth 2021

• Future Missions / Projects :
SpaceX expects to reach low Earth orbit in 2022, followed by routine flights and demonstration of in-orbit refueling in 2023. A tourist mission around the Moon is planned for 2023.

SpaceX has the goal of sending the first uncrewed Starship to Mars in 2024.October 2020 Elon Musk named 2024 as a goal for an uncrewed mission. At the Axel Springer Award 2020 Elon Musk said that he is highly confident that the first crewed flights to Mars will happen in 2026.

A key element of the program is planned to be the SpaceX Starship, a fully reusable super-heavy lift launch vehicle under development since 2018. To achieve a large payload, the spacecraft would first enter Earth orbit, where it is expected to be refueled before it departs to Mars.

After landing on Mars, the spacecraft would be loaded with locally-produced propellants to return to Earth. The expected payload for the Starship launch vehicle is to inject between 100–150 tonnes (220,000–330,000 lb) to Mars.
